Hendrick Medical Center South, formerly Abilene Regional Medical Center, is a 231-bed facility with inpatient, outpatient, medical, surgical and emergency care. Limited Public Entrances Public access into Hendrick Medical Center South will be restricted to three entrances. Main Entrance - (Mon-Fri; 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.) Outpatient Pavilion - (Mon-Fri; 5 a.m. - 5 p.m.) Women's Center - Staff, wound care patients, and women's diagnostic imaging patients may enter at 6:30 a.m. Visitors may enter at 9:00 a.m. The entrance closes at 5:00 p.m. Emergency Department The Emergency Department entrance is open for emergencies only. If you feel you are having a medical emergency, please proceed to the Emergency Department. Hendrick Medical Center South Visitor Restrictions: Policy effective date: January 19, 2022 HMCS visitation hours are 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. HMCS Covid-19 patient visitation hours are 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. All visitors will be required to check-in upon entry. All visitors must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth as per state and federal guidelines for all healthcare facilities. Visitation is restricted to two visitors per non-COVID patient in the facility at a time with greater restrictions in some areas. Visitors under the age of 18 are permitted for non-COVID patients and must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. No visitors under the age of 18 will be permitted for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Additional screenings and personal protective equipment may be required for those entering certain areas. Follow physical distancing guidelines. Anyone experiencing fever or other signs of infection will not be allowed entrance. * Exceptions may apply for pediatrics and end-of-life.

With Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification for Acute Myocardial Infarction and Advanced Certification for stroke, our emergency care centers ensure that our patients will receive the same kind of care they would in a larger city. Our two locations offer around the clock expert care to the community.
